Policies
MATH Tutoring on the Go! March 2011
These policies are my way of ensuring that working together will be productive and pleasant. When we all have a common understanding, productivity is enhanced.
Payment Policy
Payment is required at the time of each tutoring session. Please have a check or cash ready before the end of the appointment. You may also choose to pre-pay for future tutoring sessions.
Late Policy
In the event that a student arrives late for a tutoring session, the student is responsible for paying the full amount for the agreed-upon time period, even if as a consequence a tutoring session must be cut short due to the student's tardiness. However, at my sole discretion, tutoring sessions may continue past the original end-time in order to accommodate the student whenever possible, up to the original session length. If I am late for an appointment, I will stay after for the full time allotted.
Cancellation Policy
I require at least 24 hours advance notice for cancellations or reschedules, except for unforeseeable emergencies. I reserve the right to charge a $20 cancellation fee in the event an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of meeting, or in the case of students who have paid in advance, the non-refundable forfeiture of that tutoring session. Setting up an appointment is a commitment to work together towards your success, and therefore a very important matter. * Please note there will be a 100% charge for no-shows. The Cancellation Policy applies whenever a verbal agreement establishes a specific date, time, and location for the next meeting.
I am not a tutor who works with students who need an occasional visit every few weeks to get ready for a test. I expect to see the student “just about every week” with any cancellations handled according to my cancellation policies.
One more very important thing about getting started: I am only interested in working with students who want my help. If you are pushing your child into tutoring and they have not really bought into the concept, I am not the right tutor for you! My students are always looking forward to the next session, and if they are not, we both realize very soon that it will not work!
The vast majority of students have been wonderful, but there have been some unfortunate occasions that require this disclaimer.
I look forward to starting on our path to success as I become a partner in your/your child’s education!
